Size Guide
The secret to a great fit comes down to one number: the hinge-to-hinge width of your frames. All you need is a ruler and a pair of sunglasses you already love.
Velaro Vanta measurements
- Lens width: 51mm
- Lens height: 33mm
- Bridge width: 17mm
- Hinge to hinge: 135mm
- Arm (temple) length: 147mm
- Fit: Medium (51-17-147)
The key measurement: hinge to hinge
Measure a pair of sunglasses that fits you well from the outside of one hinge to the outside of the other. The right frames should be within about 4mm of that number.
- Narrow: 124 to 129mm
- Medium: 130 to 137mm. The Vanta sits here at 135mm.
- Wide: 138mm and up
Where to find your size
Most sunglasses have three numbers printed on the inside of the arm, for example 51-17-147. The first is the lens width, the second is the bridge width and the third is the arm length, all in millimetres. If your current pair reads close to 51-17-147, the Vanta will fit the same way.
Other measurements explained
- Lens width: the width of each individual lens.
- Bridge width: the gap between the lenses where the frame rests on your nose.
- Arm length: from the hinge to the tip that sits behind your ear. Longer arms hold the frame more securely, shorter arms sit closer to the face. Most adults fall between 138 and 148mm.
